I would like to thank you all for a fantastic trek.
From yourselves in the office and Richard and Wayne on the track, and never ever forgetting the hard working always smiling and musical porters from Buna and Kokoda.
The experience will never be forgotten.
A special mention must be made to John (trek leader)my personal porter Hansell, Dudley and Charles from Kokoda, Monty and all the Buna boys.
I will send through some picture I collected with them along the track.
A very personal experience I had was being able to tell my uncle Toms story and read his citation at the Isurava memorial, the opportunity to do so will never be forgotten and on behalf of my family we are truly grateful and honoured.
The response from the other Trekkers gives me great faith that his story is now stronger and more wide spread than ever before.
I’m sure uncle Tom would be very proud to hear and see the example of how modern Australians conducted themselves , as all of the Trekkers did on this trip across the Owen Stanley’s.
I will be in touch shortly to discuss a return trip to Sengai.
A trip I’m sure my aunt elizabeth will be able to handle with my assistance and persuasion.
