Kurt Fearnley Crawls Kokoda

Back in 2009 three-time Paralympic gold medallist Kurt Fearnley crawled the Kokoda Track in support of Movember proudly led by Kokoda Spirit.

The three-time Paralympic gold medallist has won marathons all around the world, including the prestigious New York, London and Chicago marathons multiple times.

His exploits are not confined to wheelchair racing having crawled the Kokoda track to sailing on a winning Sydney to Hobart yacht race.

Kurt is one of Australia’s greatest athletes and is a world-beater in and out of his wheelchair.

What a true honour it was to have trekked across the Kokoda Trail with Kurt Fearnley a true inspiration to us all!

AN EXTRAORDINARY JOURNEY. AN EXTRAORDINARY EXAMPLE OF WHAT IS POSSIBLE.

IN KURT’S WORDS

“The one thing I knew, though, was that if I did return it would be with Wayne. He had taken the time to listen, to look and to talk to me in the lead-up to this amazing adventure”

He had invested time in getting to know me and had even been in New York to support me during the Marathon.

It is amazing the power that comes from one person showing unreserved belief in another. That’s what Wayne did for me, and without him I could not have undertaken the Kokoda Track.”
