Major Cameron James

Cam has served in the Army for over 15 years.

He comes with a wealth of operational experience in both the Engineering and Infantry Corps.

He was a Company Commander at the 7th Battalion of the Royal Australian Regiment. (Commanding over 130 men in preparation for operations) 

Being a third generation Defence member with his grandfather serving in the Army during both World Wars, his father serving 30 years and a brother for 25, both in the Navy, Cam has great respect for our fore-fathers and the sacrifices that they made for us and our country.

Cam is able to explain in detail the breakdown of the battle and take you on an experience that intimately details how the battle unfolded.
Travelling from Kokoda to Owers Corner, Cam is able to detail the advance of the Japanese and the Withdrawal of the Australian forces, highlighting just how difficult the Australian Forces made it for the Japanese.
Travelling from Owers Corner to Kokoda, Cam will detail the tactical issues that the Australians faced and how they managed to repel the advance.

A qualified personal trainer, Cam has completed over 16 Ironman Triathlons (3.8km swim, 180km cycle and a 42km run) He is fit, motivated and will fascinate you with stories of leadership, and his great Aussie spirit.

Cam’s skills from his time within the Army will give you great confidence that your safety is paramount in addition to your education and enjoyment of the Kokoda experience.
